What Causes Yeast Infections – Antibiotics Are Not Your Friend

You may be totally frustrated from trying to figure what causes your yeast infections.  Antibiotics may very well be the culprit.  It’s a fact that overuse of antibiotics results in an overgrowth of Candida in numerous instances.

You may already know this, but feel there’s no other option when battling constant head colds that continue making the rounds through your family.

You probably dread taking antibiotics for head colds, simply because you know you’ll more than likely have to face another uncomfortable yeast infection after you recover from the sniffles.  And those of you who suffer from reoccurring yeast infections may even choose to run around sick half the time trying to avoid having to fight off yet another yeast infection.

Many of us who have yeast problems took way too many antibiotics as children or perhaps as a young adult.  When I was a teenager between the ages of 14 and 16, I was prescribed unending antibiotics to clear up a pretty mild case of acne that seemed terrible at the time.  It seemed to help the acne in the beginning, but in retrospect was definitely NOT worth it!

Antibiotics kill off all of the good bacteria in your body which upsets the delicate balance and makes room for an overgrowth of yeast.  As a result of what I call “antibiotic abuse”, many of us are more prone to severe and reoccurring yeast infections than ever before.

Most of us take anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen and naproxen every day.  These common medications can also destroy the delicate stomach flora that is necessary to keep things in balance.

Instead of automatically reaching for Motrin when you have a headache, or when your neck or back aches, try some stretching exercises, roll your neck and shoulders in a circular motion to release tension or walk around the block to loosen up your muscles.

Recommendation:
Do yourself a favor—if you’re taking antibiotics for acne or if your doctor is prescribing antibiotics each and EVERY time you go for a visit—stop the madness!!  I haven’t taken antibiotics in many years and refuse them at all cost except for very serious infections.  There are so many natural home remedies that will normally take care of common bacterial infections and will actually benefit your body in the process of curing the infection.

When I feel a cold or sore throat coming on I immediately grab my Zicam.  I swear by this stuff and recommend you keep it on hand.  It’s an all natural zinc based remedy that will stop a cold or sore throat in its tracks if you take it at the first sign of a scratchy throat or stuffy nose.  If you wait too long after beginning to feel bad to start taking Zicam, your cold will last longer.  It’ll still help, but it won’t work as quickly.

Wild oregano oil is another wonderful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial that will help knock out a cold  fast.  It’s also a wonderful natural remedy for yeast infections because of its anti-fungal properties.  I personally use and recommend Oregasil.   Oregasil is made from Wild Mediterranean Organic Oregano Oil and is one of the most concentrated oregano oil products available.  Oregano oil has several curative properties that benefit your body–it should definitely be a regular part of your supplement program.

Colloidal Silver is another great home remedy for colds, as well as yeast infections.   Silver Elite is the finest colloidal silver product available and is a potent natural antibiotic that only destroys bad bacteria while bypassing the good bacteria in your gut.  It’s been said that colloidal silver is also effective against yeast infections for this very reason.

If you’ve recently taken antibiotics or have taken several rounds in the past, a good old fashioned detox is in order.  It’s vitally important to cleanse your body from the lingering effects of antibiotic over use and any left over toxins that have settled in the colon and liver.  It will get rid of  bad bacteria (the cause of yeast infections) and other stored toxins that can cause yeast infections—as well as colds and flu.

In my opinion, the best colon cleanser on the market is a product called Mag O7Mag O7 is an oxygen based cleanser which is by far the most effective.  It is non-habit forming, gentle and cleans the entire digestive tract–not just the colon.  Mag O7 will not only cleanse your colon from years of fecal build up that has attached to the wall of your colon, but it will also help normalize and regulate healthy bowel movements.   An unhealthy clogged colon is the perfect breeding ground for parasites, serious disease and, yes, you guessed it…yeast!

When you learn what causes yeast infections, it will soon become a “no brainer” to make smart choices that will fend off future yeast infections.
