Your Chronic Yeast Infection – Will It Ever End?

Being plagued with a chronic yeast infection is both annoying and distressing!  You’ve no sooner finished with your tube of messy cream, than the infection is back and probably worse than ever.

Though not life threatening, yeast infections can greatly affect your quality of life—and may indicate more serious health problems.

This is why it’s so important to identify the root cause of your yeast infections—otherwise you’re in for a roller coaster ride of chronic yeast infections that never completely go away.

There are several causal factors that may contribute to recurring yeast infections.  These include, birth control pills, antibiotics, a compromised immune system (which leaves your body susceptible to bacterial infections), steroid medications that suppress your immune system, parasitic infestations and diabetes.

The obvious course of action is to eliminate or remedy as many of the offending “usual suspects” listed above as possible.

Birth Control Pills – If you can possibly use another form of contraceptive other than birth control pills, do so.  This may go a long way toward alleviating recurring yeast infections.

Antibiotics – It can’t be over-stressed that over use of antibiotics is probably the largest cause of candida overgrowth and resulting chronic yeast infections.  Try not to resort to taking antibiotics except in the case of a serious unrelenting bacterial infections.  There are so  many other effective remedies for common bacterial infections.  I discuss a few of them here…

Additionally, diet plays a huge factor in controlling chronic yeast infections.  What you eat can contribute to the frenzy of yeast growth, or help to control it.  Remove the offending foods and the yeast will begin to die off.

Diets of any sort are rarely easy to stick with, but making a few simple changes may give you the results you’ve been looking for—that should motivate you to continue!

Stay away from white flour and rice, processed foods, beer, sugar (fruits with a low glycemic level are acceptable), vinegar (except apple cider vinegar) and foods that are fermented or contain fungus such as mushrooms.  These foods can increase your symptoms and feed Candida yeast growth.  Foods that are acidic such as red meat can also spur on the growth of Candida.

Steer toward foods that have an alkalizing effect within the body (i.e., most low glycemic fruits, vegetables, almonds, whey protein, fresh fruit and veggie juices, etc.).  They will create a less hospitable environment for yeast growth.

Dealing with chronic yeast infections isn’t easy, but is incredibly important to your over-all health.

Unaddressed chronic yeast problems can lead to serious disease and deterioration of health.  There is even evidence linking severe Candida infestation with certain types of cancers.  Candida creates an anaerobic (oxygen deprived) environment inside the body, which is an ideal environment for cancer to develop and thrive.  However, neither cancer nor Candida can live in an oxygen rich environment.

If you are dealing with chronic yeast infections it is important to see your doctor, do your research, and decide on the best course of action.  It may take some time and serious research, but a chronic yeast infection can be overcome when you commit to do whatever it takes to strengthen your immune system and take control of your health.
